Since 1986, Jason Schaffer has specialized in traditional carpentry and fine craftsmanship. Drawing on a family tradition that goes back four generations, Jason began his career creating beautiful wood trim carpentry, solid home framing, and siding installation in the Des Moines area. His perfectionist craftsmanship, attention to detail, and simple love of wood has led him to found Fortis Built.

He realized that many of today’s home buyers desire the cool, unique charm of an older home without going through the pain of a costly renovation. Jason founded Fortis Built in order to fill this need by building high-end custom homes loaded with the romance of traditional Midwestern accents.
